Introduction
The CFMEU Forestry Division represents workers in the forest and forest products industry. Membership of our union is open to all workers and the great majority of workers in the industry are members.
CFMEU Forestry is the only organization with a broad and effective representative structure spanning all parts of the industry; forests, mills, wood processing, wood panel and ply production, associated transport, construction and forestry related manufacturing (doors, windows, truss and frame, joinery and more), retail timber and hardware shops.
CFMEU Forestry is a union of workers who act together collectively to improve their lives.
The union has been around for more than 100 years and has been working with the VFHCC since it was formed in November 1998.
The VFHCC represents its members in the harvesting and cartage sector of the forest and forest products industry. It is the only statewide association of forest harvesting and cartage contractors which brings together regional associations into a peak body.
The VFHCC consults with, represents and organises Victorian forest harvesting and cartage contractors, their families and communities. Our objective is to improve, protect and foster members' best interests and assist them to obtain their rights under social, industrial and other legislation.
